The Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50 Anniversario Editionhas been leaked ahead of its expected unveiling at this week’s Shanghai auto show.
First leaked by German publication Autobild, the images show the bright yellow Lamborghini AventadorLP720-4 50 Anniversario Edition looking suitably aggressive with new aero enhancements finished in contrasting black, including a front apron, side skirts, side air intakes and rear diffuser. Black alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero rubber and black side mirrors continue the theme.
The cockpit matches the exterior, with bright yellow and black leather seats with white stitching joining a transmission tunnel that separates driver and passenger and door trims finished in the same two colours.
Reports suggest 100 of the anniversary edition Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 models will be built, with power to come from a 530kW version of the standard Aventador L700-4′s 6.5-litre V12 (up 15kW) resulting in a 0-100km/h time of 2.9 seconds and top speed of 350km/h. Official details will be released when the car is unveiled.
This year marks 50 years since Automobili Lamborghini was founded, with the 1964 Lamborghini 350 GT the Italian manufacturer’s first mass-produced model.
Powered by a 3.5-litre 12-cylinder engine – that later grew to four litres – the Lamborghini 350 GT was rated at 206kW and could reach a top speed of 250km/h. The car also featured aluminium components, four-wheel independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and on some models a self-locking differential.
The 2013 Shanghai auto show opens its doors this Saturday, April 20.
