LaFerrari fine-tuned by Fernando Alonso

Ferrari’s new flagship, the LaFerrari, continues its gruelling test schedule after its Geneva motor show debut, only now with Formula One driver Fernando Alonso behind the wheel.
Ferrari is currently testing and tuning the upcoming supercar at its Fiorano test track, close to the factory itself. The Ferrari driver, said to be assisting with the fine-tuning of the car, joined engineers over the weekend to work on aspects such as the driving position, location of controls and on the car’s on-track performance.
Ferrari still hasn’t released official figures for the LaFerrari, but for now we know that the car pairs a variation of the 6.3-litre V12 from the F12 Berlinetta and FF with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with its HY-KERS hybrid setup for increased output and reduced emissions.

The hybrid system consists of two electric motors, one mounted to the gearbox, sending drive to the rear wheels and the other powering auxiliary systems.
Power is reported to be in excess of 670kW (900hp) and 895Nm of torque – enough to propel the LaFerrari from 0-100km/h in less than 3.0 seconds.
The LaFerrari has already lapped Fiorano in a time of 1:20, which is a staggering five seconds quicker than the Enzo and three seconds faster than the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.

Official performance figures should be known once the car’s final specifications are locked in prior to the first of only 499 examples rolling off the Maranello production line later this year.
